The Lunch Box was a restaurant located in downtown Anderson. When the building was purchased, the lower level was separated into two retail spaces. The middle wall was torn down to create a larger space for dining and the kitchen. The Lunch Box served lunch as if it would be something you would go home and make for yourself including salads, soups, sandwiches and ice cream. This theme was reflected in its design by leaving exposed brick interior walls, black and white checkerboard tile floors, and tables and chairs just like the ones in kitchens from the 50’s and 60’s. On one wall of the restaurant was a grouping of shelves containing approximately 200 old lunch boxes.
